Photobook Club
TUESDAY, JUNE 30, 2026
7PM
Join us on Tuesday, June 30th for our next Photobook Club meeting. This month we will be celebrating the work of Martin Parr. Known for his distinct style Martin Parr helped shift documentary photography towards social critique and offered intimate and critical looks at consumerism, leisure, and the subtle (or not-so-subtle) class divides in Western society. With over 170 publications he was one of the key proponents of the modern day photo book and one of the most prolific photographers and publishers. Beyond his own publications, Parr was a passionate collector. His extensive personal collection contains over 12,000 international photobooks and his Martin Parr foundation library houses over 5000 British and Irish photobooks. In the spirit of his fondness for the art of the photobook we ask attendees to bring their own Martin Parr photo books for others to look through and discuss.
