SHARED STUDIOS

Our Shared Studio Space is a communal work area that offers artists a multitude of resources and tools to create artwork of all disciplines.

We have 5 pottery wheels, a kiln, clay and glazes, sewing machines, screen-printing machine, painting easels, printmaking tools, workbenches and numerous small tools at your disposal.  Each member gets a shelf for storage as well as free wi-fi, utilities, gallery space and access to woodshop.

Access:  9am – 11pm, seven days a week                                                                                                                                                            Includes workspace, tools and equipment, limited selection of supplies, wi-fi and all utilities

Monthly Fee also includes a storage shelf and 15% discount to classes, workshops and RaR Bar

Monthly Fee: $ 375 

Weekly Fee: $ 200

Daily Fee: $ 120

Hourly Fee: $ 20

Please note: Prices are per person; collaborators and assistants are required to pay the same rental fees.

 

PRIVATE STUDIOS

Private Studio Spaces are 7x6 ft of private space with 200 sq ft of wall space.

Private Studio Space also includes access to the entire Shared Studio Space as well as a 20% discount to classes, workshops and RaR Bar

Access: 9am – 11pm, seven days a week      

Fee: $675 per month

GALLERY SPACE

Our gallery space can be rented for shows or used for performance or installation. It is open to the public during regular working hours of 9am-11pm

Our Studio offers 2,100 sq. ft. of workspace in private studios and shared workroom. The facility is located on 35th Ave. off 31st St. just a block away from the 36th Ave. stop on the N and W line in Long Island City and on Q66 bus line. Both studios have hardwood floors and 16 ft. ceilings.

AlterWork Studios offers artists full access to a multi-disciplinary facility for independently produced projects. Artists work in a productive atmosphere alongside their peers. Participants should have experience in the techniques and the equipment they wish to use. Technical assistance is not included in the Studio Rental program, but is available at additional cost. Studio Rental is available to US and international artists. There is no application process, however you will be asked to fill out a registration form pertaining to your artistic activity for our records only.

Shared Studio Rental is available on an hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly basis. 

Artists are required to complete their work independently, clean up their workspace, and leave the studio by the end hour of their rental.
